motor troubles
OK I have an Fitch 175 Evinrude,has never given me any trouble until i had it serviced a few trips back. I have blow a couple of fuses what are linked to the injection systerm the dealers not sure on why it is blowing these fuses. this is no big deal as i can replace the fuse .The thing that is frustrating me is first thing on a morning when start up,the motor runs rough as guts missing and splutering ,when put in gear it is stalling and shuderring ,this morning, and on the last couple of trips this go's on for 10 minute then the motor just comes good instaintly. and never misses a beat all day after that,any coments or has this happened to anyone else,i don;t think its fuel im thinking something in the warm up ,auto choke ..

Im not sure of his name but I think there is someone from Chivers marine on the forum ,would like to get his thoughts,as I have been told they are very good with the Evinrude Motors.

Can't help you Paul, but hopefully its nothing sinister.
Obviously your keen to get it sorted before you go away, as you should.
NOHA came to Onslow last year and had some dramas with his outboard. He still got some good fish but he had to put in a lot of time running around organising a hire boat etc.

from what your saying youve only had problems since the service, what did they do, and did they have the software to run diagnostics to find faults.
can l ask what year your motor is.
the 98-2000 150s and 175 had big problems with the injectors.
what you need to do is make sure the motor(ECM)has had all the avialble updates installed.these updates helped with the injector problems with the older models.
find a dealer that has the software to check the ECM for updates and stored faults.chivers should beable to help.
do a google search and you mite find some good or bad info depending on what you what to know.

Had the boat back to them
Had the boat back to them when the fuse blew, the service was a full service .Stright after I blew a fuse the fist time out.they have had it on the computor and all checks out good,thanks for the advice holth I will check on all you said. The motor is a 2000.i will take it back this week for them to look at see if we can get it right.
