Moving to Dubai! - Farewell
Hey All ...
Had the pleasure of living in Perth for the last 11yrs (minus 2yrs overseas) - and now it's time to move on ... to Dubai with Work! Looking forward to the move, but feeling sad leaving all the mates here in Oz, and not to mention the great fishing adventures I had over the years.
All the best to everyone on here, as I spent time on this Forum more than I spent on my inbox at work Some great Peeps I've met through FishWrecked, that will maintain their freindship for very long time.
I'll certainly keep my eye open on the forum, and hopefully some reports of GTs and stuff to come ... watch out S Oman ... here I come
Anyone on here living and fishing there, please PM me, and I'll share some contact details; it'd be great to empty your brains a bit.
Enuff rattling and best of luck to everyone.
Tight lines

Red Sea
Have fished the Red Sea at night with local anglers in Egypt, with what looked to be a spaniard of around 10kgs landed by them on very basic gear. I always meant to do more fishing while there, but never got around to it.
Also, check local laws as I later found out that we were fishing illegally.

I'm originally from Egypt - so, fished all the "legal" waters there back in the days. Most probably you were fishing in the Protected Marine Parks, where it's banned to even have a hook on the boat while cruising these areas ...
Basic gear - I've been there and that's how I learnt it, the hard way with 200lb handlines, and winching the fish up ... ending up with a fish that you can land nowadays using a 4000 Stella with a PE2 braid!

Good luck mate, hope you get stuck into a few whoppers. Make sure you give us a few reports to make our mouths water.
Just because I smile & nod does not mean I believe the crap coming out of your mouth.

Duabi
Mate, Shoot us a PM if you want some info on Dubai. I lived in Dubai for the last 4 years and have recently relocated to Perth, Some of the best fishing ive ever done, particulary Fujairah (2hr tow). Get yourself a boat (cheap as chips there) and get into it. As stratos metioned before the Bream of Umm Al Quwain (45 mins from Dubai) are crackers! Dubai its self is full of queenies and macks right on you door step.
Cheers

...
Hey Jarrod - thanks mate for that. I heard about the Queenies, Dollies and Macks there ... got some light gear for those, loads of fun.
Planning on getting a tub there, most probably a 30'ish Gulf Craft, where it's well suited for the Gulf there .... nice rig to tow around UAE and Oman for some GTs as well.
Will PM you for some ideas ...
Thanks Bud and best of luck to you. Certainly contact me if you planned a trip over there or move again
