Barnett has a history of this type of activity.
Barnett has many similar efforts over the years.
It seems Barnett doesn't like anyone outside the inner Western suburbs making money. When someone outside the chosen "class" starts making money he gets his office stooges to put a stop to it. This family won't be the last targeted by Barnett.

Murchison Offroad Adventures
So after a few people took the time to actually write to Terry Redman and Barnett, and Im guessing only a few as most will have just clicked twice on the petition and sat back thinking they had saved the world, here is the end result.

So after 500 or so people traveled the 8+hours to get here the lands department and Terry Redman has decided this morning that the park is closed down effective immediately.
We would like to take this time to apologize for any inconvenience to anyone. Please understand that we are trying to deal with everything up here so we do not have the time to answer questions atm.

Symptomatic of the problem this country faces
This is symptomatic of one of the great problems this (once) great country of ours (at the moment any way) is facing.
It is the popular belief among the current gaggle of politicians that selling of this country to foreign investors is a must do thing. Mr A. van Viersen in his second paragraph of his comment in the comments section of the link to the Geraldton paper is right on the money, and that is what this action is all about.
If one takes even a causual look at the local daily paper it very soon strikes you that everything in our country is up for grabs by foreign investors, don't let historic or sentimental values get in the way of selling things off.
Australia once had the very good philosophical view that everyone deserved a fair go. Sadly that has all but disappeared and has been replaced by the view that "to hell with supporting all those that get stuck in and give it a go", such as the Lanes.
From what I have read the lanes have not committed mass murder on the land, are not setting up a way out religious cult, are not mining some very dangerous substances which going to be detrimental to those that come after them for the next thousand years. In fact from what I have read they are what once was considered a normal Australian family trying to bring something new and different type of tourist activity to an area that is appreciative of their endeavours.
What can we do about this injustice, sign the petition, send an email to the minister, and if you live in his electorate make sure at the next election you are proactive by physically supporting any other candidate from any other party that is standing against him by(getting out and handing out posters, stickers etc) let these narcissistic types know that they are not acting in the best interests of their constituents or that or Australians in general.
This what we can do to help the Lanes.
At a stroke of a pen by the minister this situation can be rectified and he could actually help someone.
I hope the Lanes get a fair go.

Im getting the impression the Lanes have already had their go.
Once again, the government for whatever reason will not tell us why it is so important to boot them off the land and close the only 4WD park in the whole of WA.
