went out with an old fried, covered heaps of mile ,tried many lumps with fish showing after 5 hours and a few bits and pieces,ended up just out side the reef for a burly session,forty mins later we left with our 4 snapper,and lost a few on the skippy gear, arhhh think I'm going back to that style in future,nice pinkie for tea,didn't have the pull the anchor either! I did want a metre pinkie, need two to get more then a metre

He doesnt hug trees though.
I got out for about 3 hrs before this trip and had the same lots and lots of weed.When I get back i will fire up my nav computer and see if I can find the couple of lumps out deeper that seem to hold a few. It would be a bit of a run in your tub but on the right day if its weedy behind the reef it could give you an option. They turn up a couple of good bottom fish as well.

my old mate knows a few spots as well
it was dead calm, sea breeze was up for the snapper might have made a difference,perfect boat hung towards thr reef burly went the same way
