Sorry to piss on your parade

Sun, 2014-09-28 22:09

Sorry to piss on your parade but the reason there's still some big bream in the river is because of a rewarding technique called catch and release. If only people realised how much fun these fish can be on artificials and how slow a growth rate these fish have(its probably older than you) maybe they would think twice about killing and grilling. Yes its a nice fish but it would have been a great pic with the scales left on and its head not looking like an American journalist. Once again sorry to offend but I feel pretty strongly about this.

No offence Nimbin

Sun, 2014-09-28 22:21

but you need to read Adam's (the site owner) post RE giving new posters a hard time about whether or not they ate or released a fish. I too am all for catch and release but if someone wants to eat it then so be it. Cheers.

Nice Bream and nice intro.

Not bad on the tooth those bigger fish, worth keeping at that size for a decent feed.

Bag limit is set at only two bream over 400mm, so taking one is well within his rights.

don't have to explain your actions to anyone,99.9% of time some people are jealous, you should never feel bad about anything .some hunt and gather, some catch and realease, all good in my books ,and some don't put pics up for 4 years. never ever explain yourself to anyone fishing is fun,i never fished for bream in my life until few weeks back i got a 43 cm one and many others,i killed the big one tried it (yuck),flesh was to soft, keep the pics coming and welcome,

That's right bag and size limits determine if you need to put the fish back. Not opinions

Stonking bream mate and welcome to the  site. I fished the river just about every weekend as a teenager and never caught one that big. And as Johnny says no need to explain yourself to the jealous under achievers lol. Well within your rights, hope it cooked up well.
