Red Bass

Lots of these little fellas on the last trip to Bougainville, you've gotta love their determination to smash poppers.

You'll need to head to Glomar or Monte Bellos for a red bass, you don't catch them inshore around Dampier.

Do they go as hard as the black bass? That's on my bucket list.

I haven't caught a black bass

I haven't caught a black bass yet so I don't know.

They do hit the lures hard and pull a bit of line on heavy tackle at the start, then come in quite easily. Very similar to the large mangrove jacks and fingermark in the Kimberley area.
