Narrowed it down to 3 rods!

Really want a new rod to go with my Penn 850ssm. It'll be land based. Got 3 rods in mind after some research on this forum.

1. 12' Ugly Stick Platinum

2. 10'/11' Rovex Bario

3. 10'/11' Penn spinfisher big game surf

#3 is my fave so far. Any advice??

This may sound daft but I want to catch something big! Poss looking at shark.

Also where can I get these rods? I'm in Kalgoorlie at the min but will be going to esperance and hopetoun soon.

Thanks

Had an 850ssm on a Penn Big

Had an 850ssm on a Penn Big Game 10ft, great combo and almost bullet proof, loaded it up with 30lb mono and it beat some big metro rays, also had a bario 11ft which I snapped on a cast, so not a fan of them

be hard to come by the penn

be hard to come by the penn version now, get the Rovex Aureus (new model of Bario) 12ft same blank as the penns and being 12ft will match that reel size better. i have both a 10 and 12ft of these and rate them highly.

Have the 10' Penn rod and love it but...

If you are only going to have one rod on the beach I would definitely go with a 12footer. Obviously it depends on what sort of beach you are fishing but the extra length can make all the difference if the swell is up or if you've got to keep your line up over a weed band in the shore break. Better yet buy one of each, you know it's only a matter of time :D

I'd also like to know where one might be able to look for/purchase a Rovex rod around Perth, namely a 12' version....

Anyone with a heads up?

Definately go for a 12ft.I

Definately go for a 12ft.

I love fishing with a 10ft rod, but I find the recommended cast weights are usually significantly less than the 12ft versions of teh same rod. If you are wanting sharks, you will need to be chucking out large baits and/or sinkers. Doubt the 10ft version will handle this.

I am sure just about any tackle store could order the Rovex in for you.
