Lets talk about a land based game rod for a Saragossa 18000 ???

G'day fellas, I've just brought a Saragossa 18000 loaded with 50lb fireline and I'm looking for a rod to match.
I haven't done alot of landbased fishing and I'm going to Quobba between Xmas and the new year.
I'll need something to cast a bait but also poppers and metals as well, don't mind spending a bit for good equipment.
Something about 15-24kg or would that be too heavy for lures? 9-10 ft or longer? two piece or one?
What do you recommend

What type of Dollars you wanna spend?
I got the same reel and just gor a MT8144 Wilson Rod for it general beach fishing - probably go something with a bit of broomstick grunt for LBG of Quobba though.

lbg rods
have a look at the kingfisher rods at bluewater and see if they have the xxh model in stock as it has a cast weight of 10 oz or go for a gary howard lbg rod, both should suit your needs for line class and have a look in the sale section as the gary howard saragossa combo is listed for sale.

Ballistic
Saltiga ballistic is another option and probably the lightest rod in the heavyweight division on the market.
But if you want to spin quobba get a high speed reel and a ballsy 9ft graphite it's a pretty taxing game with high speed metal spinning

Thanks for the replys so far, keep them comming
Being in Kununurra I can't wander down to the tackle shop and have a look at LBG rods, but if I was after a barra rod I'd have 100's to choose from.
I saw a Demon blood/saltiga combo in Carnarvon about 4 weeks ago......very nice
I like the Wilson stuff, I have the 20kg PNG bass baitcaster and it's my favorite rod....sails,dogtooth,GT,s,black jew...... it will skull drag them all.
I did a search and the Gary Howard rods seem to be popular.
For the Saragossa I think I'm looking for and allrounder, if there is such a thing. I'll be living in Carnarvon next year and will most likely fish at Quobba often so I'll look at dedicated spin combos for lures then.
thanks, now I have a few brands to google and see if I can get something posted out of Perth before Xmas.
