was down that way early this morning chasing bream, got 2 undersize fish and 1 flattie 45cm, got there b4 light but couldnt see much bait working or being worked, heard of a 55lb mulla being caught from a dingy 2 weekends ago, but not sure if thats true or not, same guy told me he caught a 60cm bream (do they get that big?), think he might of been pulling my leg a bit, most of the people ive spoken to are saying that they are still quite a way up river, dunno? i havent even had a run on a mulla this season, 2 rays and 1 run on wat i think was a bull shark, clean bite off on 80lb leader.

I have been fishing the narrows a fair bit lately (south side) and havent really caught anything. - perhaps i am doing something wrong - but havent heard of much being caught there either.

Narrows is good if you got a lot of beers, a good chair and dont intend on goin home with a good catch. Majority of narrows fishers, put in alot and mean ALOT (like 100+ at least) of hours to catch anything at all. I rather go fish the ocean as i dont have the patience like most the mulla fishers in the river.

Ganged:- thats a fish to be proud of, is that a black bream like we get?

Yeh cudbfishn ive seen a picture of a 51cm bream, i dream of catching a bream that big, but 60cm?? id like to believe it, like too see it aswell, but a fish that big and old would be a cluey fish, would be a battle to land around there, well i was told the 60cm fish was caught from a boat on ultra light bream gear close to the concrete island, not sure which island, wouldnt tell me that.

Yeh H.S Chan i know wat your saying about putting in the hours in the river, took nearly 3months of hard fishing to get my first big mulla, that was 3 years ago and ive only caught 2 small fish since then, only one at the narrows though, there was plenty of beer involved :P never caught one in the true ocean, esheds and i caught a black jew up north but they are another animal entirely, wouldnt even know where to start from metro beaches.

Does anyone know how big yellowfin bream get? and do we get them in the swan/canning river? ive caught them in the creeks in the pilbara but havent encountered one metro yet.
