I'm in Phuket now and have been here since the 29th June going home 27th July I live here month on month of Perth Phuket.
Next I'm back 1 st September for a month if your here then we could hook up .

you been out in a longtail for a fish? im thinking ill bring my stradic with me and some metal slices, 6/0 and 4 hooks , roll of 80lb leader and roll of 20lb leader.   pretty sure i can buy a cheap blank over there?

any ideas on rock fishing and the like?  Ive been on the google earth - looks like some nice rocks around on sides of beach that might be worth a go? worth fishin around them in a longtail? throwing slices could be fun?   do they have tailor around there?   the waters around karon look to be around 20-30 m so there might be something holding?   no idea- kid in a candy store.. :P

any info anyone has to share would be great,

There's a restaurant in karon called on the rock from the restaurant I always see Thai guys fishing of the rocks but this is Phuket and I've been here 55 times and. To be honest with you close in the place pretty fished out remember here they take everything there is no rules.
Next time you come to Thailand try and organize yourself a fish in ranong it is about 450ks north of pkuket island you can get there by car.
I have been told by many of my local Thai friends this is the place to fish in Thailand.
One of my Thai friends that live here came to stay with me in Perth december2011 he is a very keen fisherman him and I will be organizing a fishing trip in September.
Also one of my friends Aussie owns a 43 ft boat here in Phuket which will soon be doing private fishing charters soon look it up it's called kang charters it's owned by 2 Aussies and 2 Thais which I am in business with them here as well.

Also when back in perth I am always looking for someone as a fishing buddy preferbly weekdays I live nor and a have a 6m Ali and 23ft centre console key west so if ya keen send me a pm
