Navionics on Windows 8.1 now
I got this today, not for me, but if you have a laptop etc, could get a HUGE screen going, even connect to a monitor etc.
The connecting to a GPS is the key - surely a phone could be used if people were wanting to be user friendly.
Anyway - thought I would pass this on.
The most widely used Boating app now downloadable on Windows tablet or PC!
Navionics Boating is available for free from the Windows Store for Tablet or PC operating Microsoft Windows version 8.1 or higher. With the Navionics Boating app, you'll enjoy the same great detailed charts found on GPS plotters.
Download the free version to enjoy:
• navigation tracking
• route planning
• measuring distance and direction between points
• sharing details of a journey
Then go to Menu>Charts for Navionics+ fully-comprehensive, all-in-one charting package available In-App that includes Nautical Charts, SonarCharts™ and Community Edits, plus one year of Chart Updates.
Any PC with Windows 8.1 can download charts and view them regardless of connectivity, then use them as a planning tool to review maps and do route planning. If a PC or Tablet is equipped with built in GPS technology, you can record tracks of your day on-the-water and take charts with you everywhere and access them at any time. In the future, PCs without an internal GPS may use an external GPS. Additional features are coming also!
Wise man says - first take the plank out of your own eye before trying to take the speck out of somebody else's.
