Hey mate, I purchased a BG4000 recently with 30lb J-Braid. Took it on a trip to

the Abrolhos and it exceeded all expectations. Landed dhuies to 13kg and even a 15kgish cobia.

 Considering how cheap

Considering how cheap J-Braid is, you should seriously consider stepping up to the 8-strand version. The rounder profile makes it cast better, jig better and have better abrasion resistance.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the J-Braid is an average breaking strain whereas Sunline is a maximum breaking strain

with the pe side of things ill try explain the best i can pe is not the rationg that the line breaks at it is more of a guide to the diameter of the line so your good braids eg any 8 strand over $120 for 300m of pe 3 will probaly be  as thin as a normal 30lb line but acually break at 50lb or others with say pe 3 and break at 40lb and so on so on . However rods are a bit different from my undertsnading if a rod is rated pe 2-4 does that mean that its rated 20 to 40lb or does it mean the rod was made to use with line with a diameter of pe 2-4 no matter what the line breaks at ? gets a bit confusing but for me if i see a rod that says pe 2-4 i go with 20-40lb hope this helps a bit but in ansew to your main question j braid is  a good braid for deep dropping balooning trolling pre much everything exept casting really as its a bit thick so i would go cast away over j braid if youll be casting most the time  but i still think one of the best braids out there is tasline its pe 3 breaks at 50lb and is incredibly thinner then most other braids .
