Watched it the other day. Seems impossible to buy ethically sourced fish. Definitely will keep hunting my own protein from the ocean. At least I will know how it was sourced with no by catch. Interesting about the plastic issue. Definitely worth a look.
Just watched it, pretty big issues addressed. Dont need to be green for it to hit home. But it makes me proud to be australian and i feel we are doing quite well regarding the rubbish and "sustainable" fishing. I'll keep fishing for my dinners and continue to not buy seafood as i have always done. Bit over dramatic at times.
Some eye opening stuff presented in it but he lost me when it became apparent it was a heavily bias vegan properganda doco claiming there's no such thing as a sustainable fishery and that people need to stop eating fish altogether.
Yep can see its a heavily biased doco from the very beginning. The world needs to wake up to itself tho. I think we are lucky here in the fact that if we want fish we go to the ocean and catch what we need. Some parts of the world probably belive fish only exist in the supermarket freezer hence why there is no fks given to how it got there.
Based on what Ray Hilborn and others above have said I don't know if I'll bother to watch it. The idea that no fishery is sustainable is just bullshit. Look at the WA rock lobster fishery for one. Some fish stocks are definitely improving locally. Look at the great dhu's that are caught locally and think about that 10 or 15 years ago. I know improved electronics helps but not if there are no fish. Tailor fishing is way better than it used to be (I'm not talking about the "good old days"). If you manage a fishery well then it can recover and prosper.
That's it in a nutshell Dave. That's why our Cray industry is/was second to none, very sustainable high quality product. Other countries could learn a lot from our fisheries management.
That video was a breath of fresh air listening to someone who knows their shit talking common sense.
I'm under no illusion Andy that there isn't some appalling fishery management around the world like the walls of death, massive bycatch waste, seabed damage etc. because we all know there is. These days though I think there is generally far more focus on sustainable fishing to ensure there are fish to catch in the future.

Some interesting points but a fair few statements that are easy to punch holes in.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Cowapiracy
Made by the same group as Cowspiracy and being full on promoted by the Dominion groups too
Lots of interesting stuff in it but be careful in believing everything just because it's on TV
Just look at what's happening in NSW and you can see where things are heading

Dubious information
That "doco" is already being debunked by scientists. Be careful what you read and listen to.
