Never too old to skurf!
Hi all
I recently bought a set of water skis and a biscuit as a way to getting more use out of our boat, and the fact that I haven't water skied for 15 years was no reason to not do it again. Getting up on 2 skis was pretty easy, but the deep water single start was proving a bit more difficult, so a friend offered to help me out.
Also, my son and his mates can all surf so skurfing sessions on the Harvey Inlet were proving popular...if they can do it, then so can I....even though it's been over 30 years since I've been on a surfboard. Last Sunday we hit the water and using the wakeboard approach to getting up on a surfboard, I nailed it pretty easily and it works a whole lot easier for me than starting off laying on the board and having to get to your knees and then standing up.
Here's a short clip from Sunday's skurfing session....I had a ball out there, even though I pulled a hammy during the deep water single ski lessons. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYZkQlwuYpQ

not a bad effort for an old
not a bad effort for an old fart. remember butt in shoulders back and eyes closed and just think your doing it right even if it looks a bit rusty.
its all about having a bit of fun. the way i look at it, if the young can do it why not the old farts.

Never too old
You're never too old to get out there and try it...no point sitting around talking about 'giving it a go one day'.
Why should the younger ones have all the fun!!
