New boat

Hi all, I took my new boat out for a run today. It's a Seafarer Victory 6m. I know the guy that owned it and he really looks after his stuff, as you can see by the photos. It has a 2005, 200 hp optimax, and it goes awesome, does 43 knots. It is really stable at rest and a brilliant ride, and a heap of deck space.
P.S. Anyone else on here have a Seafarer Victory?
Cheers

getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

The motor is awesome. Really
The motor is awesome. Really economical motor by design and coz of the size, and very efficient hull,At 3300 RPM I am doing 28 knots, so it just purrs along. Idling is a little noiser that a 4 stroke but thats what you get from a two stroke. Punch out of the hole is amazing.

Seafarer - awesome
Top boat.
Very importand note - make sure you move the fuel filler from the original position. The filler sits too low in the engine well. If you happen to not put the cap on properly you will get water in the fuel and that will cost a fortune to repair. Just have the fuel hose from the tank re-routed to come up in the top deck just in front of the engine. Mind you, looking at your photos it looks like it may already have been done.
I had a Victory with a 150 Optimax up until a few years ago. Best riding boat I have been on for the size. Mine went fantastic with the 150. Yours must haul ass with the 200. It looks to me that yours is the 5.9 metre model...judging by the windscreen. No major difference from the 6.0m apart from the screen I think.
Yours looks like one of the cleanest I have seen. Great vessel. You wont be disappointed.
I did then the best that I knew how. When I knew better, I did better.

Fuel filler position
Hi there bradz, yea mate, the guy I bought off had already done the converstion and fitted a neat Ali plate over the old hole. Thanks for the advice anyway.
Yea mine is the 5.9m, don't know why it is called that because the hull is exactly the same length as the newer Victorys.
The newer Seafarers are a bit more rounded off at the back corners, also the fibreglass behind the back seat is all the same level as the sides of the boat.
Mine has the part in front of the motor drop down.
Cheers.

nice rig
very nice rig there mate , i had the 6.2mt Vagabond with a 200 evinrude and was very impressed, they are built very solid and very heavy which helps in rough seas.
i put some trim tabs on mine and made the ride even better

Nissan towing
Hi there. I was a bit concerned before I bought the boat about how the car would go, but the car goes no worries. Put it this way, it makes no difference
towing this boat on tandem axle then towing my 5.2m Ali boat on single axle. The boat is really well balanced on the trailer as back of car only drops aprox
1.5cm. Saying that you definitely know you have a boat behind ya though, so you just take it easy. The Navara does have a 3 tonne towing capacity.

Seafarer Victory 5.9 EOI
Hi all, Im stuck between a rock and a hard place with what to do with my beloved boat which I have had for 12 years. This original post was done in mid 2011. It's coming to a stage where it's hard to get out and enjoy it as family life is coming to a stage where we can't go out together as my 2 teenagers work on Sat mornings, I'm often busy so the boat just sits idle. We haven't been fishing for a few years but used it mainly cruising the Swan, going to Garden island or Mandurah waterways.
Boat is amazing for it's age of 30 yrs as it was built in 1992, so built in original factory by Lindsay Fry.
Motor on the back is Mercury 200hp Optimax with aprox 500hrs, awesome power and has Furuno 585 with wet box sounder in rear of boat, and Furuno GP-7000f plotter.
Extensive Stainless work done
Trailer needs work but will be fine for a long time still.
Boat looks exactly the same apart from changes to electronics, clears, lights etc.
Boat has been meticously cared for which would be evident when seen in the flesh.
Putting it out there.
Cheers
Ken
