I am pretty sure the new boat
I am pretty sure the new boat registration form does not ask for the max rated hp or weight. Just hp and make. Although insurance might be another issue ?

Yes very true. I assume you need some kind of liability cover, i dont think it is covered in the rego.

In my expereince(not
In my expereince(not saying it will be the same for you), when i rego'ed my tinnie(in 2006 though when i transfered it from the NT) it said max 30hp and max weight 95kg on the HIN plate
Well my motor was a 40hp and weighed 102kg and DoT didnt seem to care, and was all signed off on.
The NT doesnt have boat rego so didnt have any dramas there when i originally bought it there.
