I don't think I could ever tire watching GT footage, what a wonderful place!!
I lost a $120 Patriot Designs Mastered Bomb within 15 minutes of being there, thought this is going to be an expensive trip but the tally for lost poppers only came to about 3 for myself in 5 days.
Jay, I had a booking penciled in for May this year, but my mate pulled out, so I let it slide. Hopefully 2011.
Last time I went the same thing happened, but I went by myself anyway. I ended up fishing with 2 blokes from Melbourne, one of which worked for Paul Worsteling from IFish. Had an absolute blast, and met two top guys which I stay in regular contact with to this day.
Realistically, as you would know it's a big slog getting there from WA, and quite honestly I would rather wait so as my mates could share the experience as well, opposed to me rattling on about some place that most wouldn't even know where it is on a map!!
All in all, I struggle to find like minded people nowadays who have the budget to fund such trips, as you get older, mates priorities change, and if you don't have children you are left fishing these kind of trips by yourself!!!

Depending on the skipper and
Depending on the skipper and angler's skill or experience, gear loss can be surprisingly minimal.
I think more poppers get lost to cut-offs with mackies/wahoo or end up being retired after catching too many fish or to angler error.
