New Caledonia

I am looking to book a trip to New Caledonia for April or May next year. At the moment I am 1 person short for a 3 person trip.
The trip is basically 5 days heavy popper throwing in the lagoons north of Noumea.
I did the trip last year with 2 guys from Melbourne, and the fishing was mindblowing, we caught big GT's, coral trout, bluefin trevally, red bass, jobfish, big cod, and numerous other reef species all on poppers.
My total trip cost was about $5000AUD, but at the time we were in the early stages of recovery from the GFC and the AUD was not in a good way. I would expect the same trip to cost around the $4500 mark at present.
I can appreciate that this is a trip that would not appeal to all, but if anybody is interested, send me a PM.
Steve.

No marlin or doggies,

But I can assure you the doggies are there, not so sure on the billfish. Unfortunately the swells on the outer reefs were huge last time we were there, thus preventing us fishing outside. We were confined to the lagoon only, but it is crazy fishing in only 2-3 metres of water. I blew 2 hookups on 50kg plus GT's in the week! Maybe next time.

Feral, I would look at doing the Ouano and Bourail again, but instead of the 4 days go 5. If the swells were down, they would do a fair bit outside, and depending on what time of year, they catch fair numbers of YFT on poppers outside. I could be persuaded to any of the other trips but it's nice to get back to your accommodation every arvo and have a few beers etc.
Brad and Jay went with LPB [Le Poisson Banane]. They are fairly competitive on price, but it's dependent  on what trip you choose, I would rather come back to some comforts at the end of the day opposed to camping on a beach[getting soft in my old age]. LPB do go to more remote areas, but I can say the areas I fished last time, I only saw 1 other boat in the water the whole time in 5 days, so the place as a whole is fairly pristine.
