New canopy
Finally bit the bullet and got a new canopy for the boat fabricated and covered. The old one was getting a bit long in the tooth and I was sick of cleaning the sunnies only to put them back on and cop another over spray in the face again. Plus I didn't have much in the way of keeping my rods off the deck whilst in transit to the next fishing spot so I wanted to sort that out too. I removed the old one and dropped it off to the welder on Monday. Picked it up today and put some lights on the bar work to give a bit of light for the night fishing. The auto trimmers did a nice job as I can zip off the clears and then I can zip off the main cover just to leave the frame work. I don't mind getting out in less than favourable conditions so hopefully it will be a good investment. Can't wait to get out for the next fish or dive.

$1200 for the bar work and
$1200 for the bar work and $1200 for the canvas. The auto trimmers quoted $1500 if he did the tubing but as it would've been 20mm tube, it required extra bracing which would interfere with my diving needs. I wanted as much of the back clear to roll off when diving. One place quoted $3000 to do bar work.

I should give it a clean but
I should give it a clean but have never got around to it. It needs a polish. Maybe one day. It'll only get dirty again;)

certainly looks the goods.
certainly looks the goods. gotta be happy with the end result. No more poking your head through the top and getting your hair washed. plenty of head room as well.
