Submitted by deig on Wed, 2013-08-28 19:25
Hi all
I am new to boating and fishwrecked. I have just purchased a 6m plate ally sea rider with a 2003 135hp mercury are they a good unit? Also I am a mad fisherman but very green so any advice would be appriciated.
Thanks

Hey Deig,Similar situation
Hey Deig,
Similar situation here, just taken the boat out for the third time today
I like Cockburn sound for learning, it doesn't get as severe with the weather but on an afternoon like today it's a good place to try rough conditions.
Also if you hit Five Fathom Bank behind Garden Island on better days you've still got the safety of the island being nearby and usually other people out there.
Are you planning on going out on weekends or can you get out during weekdays?
Next week im on holidays still and if the weather holds at some point we could go out together

6m tub for first boat your spoilt lol , should handle most conditions and get you outwide when suits.. maybe take out a few experienced deckies / skippers initially which I'm sure there'd be plenty on here ..
