the steps
1/ rig up with a paternoster rig and big sinker
2/ fit a 7/0-9/0 hook or two
3/ load them with occy
4/ when you hook something spectacular hold fish up with a jig hangin out the side of its mouth and post the photo here
pretty sure that's how most here do it :-)
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Not much return for jigging
Not much return for jigging in close and shallow like you plan to do first up. I won't usually drop jigs until I'm out past five fathom bank at least. Much more effective to use plastics in the sound and around the islands. If you still want to give it a crack have a look at the caprice kids and Ima Gun they worked real well for me in shallow water up at shark bay

biggest piece of advice...is
biggest piece of advice...is take no bait....force your self to jig and be persistent....
that is my biggest point
just cause your jigging doesn't mean your going to kill it....you need good technique and that will only come with time.....
a hard days fishing still beats work
