new member yak trip

After just joining this fantastic site I thought I would make my first post a trip report,

We moved to Broome in Oct 09 and havent had a great chance to fish but have been doing ok, this morning I got down to the boat ramp only to see birds diving and baitfish getting smashed just the other side of the channel.  I started peddling as fast as I could to get over there but once there they weren't interested in anything I could throw at em!! So I set off on a troll towards the lighthouse, trolled there and back with no luck so before going home I thought I would try around the jetty. There were large fish showing on the sounder and I could see queenies swimming and it didnt take long for one to grab my lure and put on a great aerial display, after a few scary moments I had a metre plus queeny on board!! The second fish didnt jump but had some great long runs which had me chasing in the yak, I wanted to release the 2nd one but after about 10 mins trying to revive the fish wasnt going to survive.
