Pengiun Island tasty mixed bag
I went to Pengiun Island on Saturday with my mate on our hobies. Started fishing the sandbar for KG whiting. They were pretty much a catch-per-cast, but all undersize except one which went 33cm. Good fun anyway. Then went out deeper and burleyed up with floater rigs, got some fat herring and a couple of gardies. The gardies were EVERYWHERE, hundreds of them.. but just not biting. Also got a decent squid (on $2 cheapie jigs), and lost another couple.
Tried for tailor/salmon around the back with lures and muilies on gangs, to no avail. Anyway, went home with a tasty dinner.
Also.. while I was pedalling around the cable on my mirage drive just snapped. WTF? Has that happened to anyone else? I had to paddle like a commoner. I hope its not going to be too expensive to fix...

nothing better then going out on the water and enjoying the day and then coming home to enjoyed the night and a feed of fresh fish..

Nice bag the Salmon can't be far away,,i don't think a new cable will be to expensive for the Mirage Drive,,some organised folks have a spare parts kit on board,,i am not one of them tho,,lol
