New power cable for Furuno GP7000F

 Gday All,

Just wondering if anyone has a spare power cable for a Furuno GP7000F plotter....my plotter keeps turning itself off....was told it is likely a problem with the power lead. Local Furuno dealership is out of stock to mid Feb....so just chancing it on here....

cheers in advance

Steve

Have you checked the connections of where the Furuno cable picks up its power from and also the pins on the Furuno cable & unit? Make sure there’s no corrosion

Run a multimeter on your battery and check for voltage spike or drop when it is dropping out. Sounders are a bit temperamental when it comes to volts so they can protect themselves. If it does spike or drop, could be your voltage regulator/rectifier that is the the problem. Off the top of my head I think the range is between around 9 - 14 volts. Anything out of that range they will shut down
