new reel

Hey guys, am looking to get a new reel and rod setup. mainly for bottom bashng, but if versatile enought to troll a lure that would be great, thinking of putting on 50lb jbraid, aminly fishing in 20-40m of water.

so far loking at a penn slammer 3 as sounbd liekt hey are fairly bullet proof. any suggestions on size?

alternativley i have a saragosa 8000 that i have been pretty happy with so was considering as another option.

any rod suggestions? budget would ideally be about 350 for rod and 350 for reel.

any reccommendations greatly appreciated!

My mate and myself both use Shimano Terez rods for the same purpose, 40-100 heavy, he's got a spin with a 8000 Stradic and I've got OH with a Talica 10, cant fault them, I just prefer OH for trolling

For what you are wanting, i don't reckon you can go past the Saragosa 8k or 10k!

Really

It boils down to what weight you would fish with most often.

16-24oz you want a heavy jigging stick - just dont high stick it.

Reels - I also like overheads so budget option Tyrnos 12 will get you by with a talica 10(9kg drag) or Talica 12(18kg drag) as the better options.
