New Sounder/Plotter Combo

I have a furuno FCV 620 sounder, chasing a replacement combo. Was looking at furuno combo.(GF1670/GF1870F ) I have a 6m ali and looking at transom mounted transducer if possible. Have read a couple of comments on forums is the Garmin much chop?? Don't want to spend more than 2 grand.

The 1870F will give you the combo you are looking for with the added bonus of the 1kw sounder module from the 587.

I'm with johnf not sure why you would ditch your 620 for a combo ? Why not keep the 620 and buy a combo to use as a plotter.
If you go with a combo when you start splitting screens you will need a magnifying glass to see what's going on and you won't beat furuno as a sounder imo.
My spots are so secret even the fish don't know about them !

Pretty sure the 620 only takes the 600w tranny mate.
Furuno's are the go mate, dont get rid of it for a different sounder?plotter. As stated above....get a stand alone plotter to go with it!

620 1kw
a 620 will take a 1kw tranny, it won't give as good a picture as a 587 or 1870 but it will be better than 600w tranny.

unless your fishing deeper than 100-150m, the 1kw isnt much of an improvement on the 600w
