got myself a unlic 10ft savage with a 5hp suzuki motor tonight, all up its going to be less that $500 on the water so im pretty stoked, going to rig it up as my bream assault weapon on solo trips, the hull dosnt look like it will plain to easy but its been freshly painted so looks the part.
i have a 11ft with a 9.9hp and that gets on the plain ok but i saw a hydrofoil dohicky on the net an was after an opinion if its worth putting one on the new tinny.. fairly short shaft so not sure if it will be to effective.
will post up some pics tomorrow, test run later in the week or sat morning!!

Just give it a run and see
Just give it a run and see how it goes, all hulls will plain they just need enough power to get them there. So if your new one doesn't plain the main reason would be the small outboard. As for the hydrofoil i can really comment as ive never used one. Also if i head out solo in the tinny i tend to use a tiller extension and sit on the middle bench, altho our outboard has the gears on the tiller so you change gear by twisting so i can therefor change gear without having to get up, but could be worth having a look at a tiller extension first.

Hi Jim, If its the wing that
Hi Jim, If its the wing that you put on the motor that you are referring to I put one on my tinny a few years back I think it was "LZ" brand. I found that when dirving by myself the tinny would take alot longer to get on the plane and when at slow speed the nose rode quite high as I have my fuel tank at the rear of the boat. After fitting the wing it made a heap of difference in getting to the plane sooner and riding a lot flatter at slower speed. So I can say for around $50 that I paid fo it and an easy fit it was well worth it.
