dinghy with electric motor.

thinking of getting an 8ish ft floating device and putting an electric motor on it for some nice and quiet bream fishing.

anyone do this or have info on these electric motors?  Bcf have a 34lb model and im guessing you supply your own power source car battery etc.

any idea of the amp/h usage on something this size?

will i have to have the boat lic because of the electric motor?

id go a yak but want something i can stand in and have a little more room.

I've done similar with my canoe, but will be doing the same with a car topper.

If you can, go for a 130amp/h battery. As you're only using the electric, the last thing you want is tor un out of power.

Also, go for the biggest electric you can, I'd actually stay away from a tiller steer and go for the bow mount. Much better to use evn if they are more $$$.

i just want a cheap sort of option atm, selling my 13ft dinghy soon to upgrade but still want something small for solo trips on the river.

id take two batterys to be sure i dont run out of juice haha. im used to tiller and dont mind it, nice and simple.

im guessing 34lb would get a small tinny up to a good paddle rate, wanting to keep it as small as possible so i can launch from anywhere.

did you have to lic your canoe because it had an electric motor? or depending where you fish not worry about it..

The Watersnake would be a good option then and the 34lb I have pushes a tinny along at a pretty good rate.

I've been told I don't have to licence the canoe, so far so good.

i found an 88lb for under $200 on ebay but its 24v so a bit more cables etc to hook up. 34lb would be plenty thou im thinking, what sort of range are you getting out of a battery? i plan on using some 600cca batterys i have and take two just to be sure.
