New tow truck

Hi, at long last we finally got our GX 4.5 diesel twin turbo Crusier on new Years Eve.Its what we have dreamed of owning with the bank coming to the party.Toyota has cut out every concivable extra to help get the cost down.It will enable us to cruise at 100km with the 6.1m platety fully loaded with all our gear.Made for the mining industry,it will suit us just fine.My wife and I took it for a break in run down to Melbourne 9.79lt per 100ks running at102kph.on the return trip via Lakes Entrance / Eden to Sydney at 9.29km per 100ks running at 110kph.EATS Mountains.Just wrapted with the fuel figures. Will be interesting to see the fuel figures towing the boat to Exmouth in July 2014.My 1998 3.4lt Prado just wasn't up to it any more 337,000km on the clock Chewing 17.5lt round town, 22lt per 100km with the boat on country running .dealers wouldn't trade her in,so we sold her privatly.Would like to get onto the LCOOL web site. I have registered with them,But have not herd a thing back from them after more then a week or so.So I can't log on.Can any one help with another way to get access.

Yep will post photo soon, Its getting wired on tuesday, normily I would do myself, however it has LED tail lights so it needs a seperate Ecu unit, or else it will bugger the opporating of the existing lamps, plus extra live cigerette point in the back for the fridge. Toyota has cut it to the bone. They worn not to tamper with, so im using my local auto electrican to do it. I picked up a reversing camera from Repco last week, reduced to $49. its Lcd and wires streight into the left reversing lens in the bumper.the floors are all rubber, and easy to lift to run the cable to the dash. Not even map reading lamps for front seats. But I won't complain, It will see me out.I just got a email from Lcool, only took 11 days to get hooked up!

Thanks again, will keep you posted. Cheers Jim

You'll love the towing abilities of the big 4.5l twin turbo V8!

I'm a member of lcool too, great cruiser resource.  I remember when I joined it did take quite a while for them to approve too but the threads are great and has more than once gotten me out of some DIY sticky spots!
