got these bad boys this morning, took 2 home, landed 4, realeased 2. and lost a snapper that was bigger than this sambo.... was gutted! got it all the way to the boat, didnt have a gaf so was lifting them in with the tails. :/
im not sure what they weighed, i forgot after a filleted them :/ so not sure if you guys can work it out, but the biggest was 105cm's just over, was well off the scale provided by fisheries, and worm free :D

Cheers dude. I thought around the 13kg mark but wasn't sure. It was a hell of a fight the bigger one. Took 20 mind to get in. Didn't want to rush it like the snapper and loose it trying to grab it while it still had fight left in it :-D

I would rather not say :-/ it wasn't in the sound. But close. Took a while in the tinni to get there. Hence the 5am start in the dark ;-) then nav died so found this spot by luck :-D there was about 15+ sambos going mental feeding. Was amazing fun. Snapper was unlucky. Biggest one I've seen in person. Was huge.

nice fish mate, very easy to get hooked on sambo fishin. they take almost anything you throw at them too, defs the best pelagic in southern waters. i reckon he is about the 15kg mark. this one i got went 17 so your right on the money i think.
