Need some advise guys....we are thinking of heading out this afternoon at about 4pm, staying out till about 10pm. Winds look good but the worry is the swell (3-4m)..this is our first night time session so your thoughts would be appreciated

Probably head out from mindarie and hit direction bank. We are pretty familiar with the area.....reefs just outside the marina the only obstacles.

no way I'd nightfish that
no way I'd nightfish that swell, especially first time out.
If the wind picks up or you cop a greenie it's not going to be much fun.

A big boogar that hangs out
A big boogar that hangs out of a nostril .. A over zealous enviromentalist .. or a wave that comes over the bow of a boat

Well boys we did head out but
Well boys we did head out but not to direction bank, bit too far out for maiden night fish and solo boat. Ended up heading south to Hale rd reef. Got their at about 5pm and anchored over some hopeful ground. Half hour later my mate Jeff landed a nice 65cm pinky and we thought we were in for a good session. Then we were smashed for the next couple of hours by what we think were big rays as we just couldn't budge these things.
anyway first night fish was great fun and we got back to hillarys by 11pm safely. Also bit of humour chatting to some very jolly punters on their way home from the Breakwater.
