Trolling speeds

Up at Barn Hill at the moment and yesterday took the dingy out trolling for some macks and was wondering what speeds others like to troll at??? I realize this is all dependent on what lure you are using but as a rule of thumb what speeds do you like??
We were trolling Halco's 190 2+ mtr lures and starting speed of approx 15 kilometers per hour
at this speed we picked up one good mack and I got a PB 108cm Queenie.
But then things went quite for a couple of hours, so on the way home I cranked up the speed to approx 21 kph and bang got another Mackie.. Go figure
At 23 kph the lures would start to skip across the water.
Ps: Forgot the bloody camera (Again) so no photos... :-(

Watch the rod tip it should
Watch the rod tip it should be flicking nicely meaning your lure is swimming .to fast and you will lose the flick on the rod tip We find around 6-8 knots. try a skirt if things are quiet and a little more speed .this can work when bibs arnt working.

Like what Paul said watch ur
Like what Paul said watch ur rod tip and for skirts watch the action of the lure, your trolling speed will vary depending on the conditions but as long as the lure is working properly that's all that matters
