Ningaloo trout and baldies back on the menu for spearos?

I’m not sure how to decipher this yet, but it looks like the no cod or wrasse rules might have been lifted for spearfisherdudes in the Ningaloo marine park :
I personally think this is a good, fair change, if I’m reading it right!

Maybe an attempt to get
Maybe an attempt to get people back into the water and a bit more business for Exmouth, either way good for some.

That map is a joke.
We just got back from Coral Bay. There are so many rules and zones it is confusing. The map in the article by scotto is a joke. The coloured zones indicated are outside the reef. There are that many different zones within the reef and these are not even indicated. Inside the reef are where the rules have changes. So frustrating.

It's only in the
It's only in the Commonwealth marine park which starts in about 200 meters so good luck with the trout and baldies it's the state marine park thats still descriminating against spearos and needs changing.

Ive lived in Exmouth for 8 years now and spear every chance I get. Nothing wrong with the no cod/trout/wrasse rule in my opinion. Plenty of other fish to spear and other areas where you can get trout etc.

Living in exmouth makes
Living in exmouth makes these rules less restrictive than it is for the rest of us because you've got the gulf and the islands to get trout etc but exmouth is only a small percent of the ningaloo marine park everywhere else it's very restrictive especially for shore dives i think there's way to many restrictions in the park as it is so why place more rules on the form of fishing proven to be the most sustainable and selective the no spearing south of tantas is the biggest kicker in my opinion hopefully rec fish will sort this descriminating rules out one day.

Out
Im with you Marble as an ex Exmouthian, prefer the west side stayed spearing free. Inside the reef would get destroyed, still plenty of ways to get a good feed if you have half an idea. No problems with some areas staying off limits to help replenish the stocks.

No issue.
Yep great to see baldies and trout when you dive. My big issue is there are so many zones and different regulations across different government bodies it is too bloody confusing. Try finding one map that sets it all out. Or a map that actually has the coordinates where one zone starts and the next stops.
