try stuff thats marked... minden reef (freo) pinnacle rock, harding rock, - look at contours.. holes.. try mewstones, right side of carnac.. surely ull get something.. jsut burley up!

we dont have a sounder on mates boat- just use navionics.. have caught some decent fish just heading to fishy lookign areas...

If you're a newbie and theres a fair bit of swell I definitely would not reccomend mewstone, especially just going out with the missus and child for a bit of fun. Try Parmelia bank in between woodmans point and carnac, for whiting, squid, herring or the shipping channel for whiting and flathead

Just checked the forecast for Saturday, 3m+ swell and westerly winds mewstone will definitely be a no go, will be like a washing machine out there. Another good spot if you're willing to travel to the southern end of the sound is just inside the coathanger bridge. A totally protected spot from wind and swell anchor up about 50m before the bridge about 20m out from the rocks, plenty of skippy and herring there last time I checked, just need some burley to get them going. Hope this helps good luck

Yep what beau said, and in the sand patches straight out from the big bridge we can normally get some nice whiting/ flounder. Squid is always worth a go !! The channels hold lots of rays if you get bored haha
