Non return slide bait clips

Hey everyone, am doing a week long trip at the end of April camping on the beach near Esperance (most likely at Dunn Rocks) and have been looking into these non return slide bait clips I saw Steve and his mate talking about on the Perth Fishing TV facebook page a couple of weeks ago. Just wondering if anyone has used them and recommend them? I've always worked on the theory of casting to and anchoring your bait in the strike zone (gutter) so was thinking these may only have the bait swimming through that strike zone for a few minutes, so interested in hearing pros and cons. Also do they work well for dead baits like strips or mulies? And what are the different applications of the weighted ones and non weighted
Cheers

They are usually used for
They are usually used for baits too big to cast. Otherwise you would just cast a bait. Definately not for mulies. And ive never slid a strip bait although i know others that do. Just whole fish. It takes ages to set up and it makes it impractical to keep winding in to check your bait.
Most of the time im using weighted slides. As i fish the beach and the weight helps get through the surf.
You also really need the gear for it. Its mainly used for shark fishing.

Yeah mate, they are great
Yeah mate, they are great for baits too big to cast or livies that you dont want bashed around
Definitely a waste of time sliding mulies or strips as it takes a long time to set up
Also need specific gear for it (castable overhead best)
Weighted ones are best for the surf as they just slide easier than the non weighted

Jump on the slide baiting wa
Jump on the slide baiting wa fb fb page.
As mentioned above but strips are definitely worth trying if there's not many pickers around. It's not impractical if you have everything ready to go. I can set up and slide just as fast as u can set up another rod. It's great ground down there to slide.

Cheers guys, I'll get a few and give it a go. Thought it would be worth a try to get a bait out for a gummy or whatever you catch down there other than salmon

Make sure you've got proper
Make sure you've got proper grapnels. If your sinker doesn't hold you can forget about trying to slide

Have a go with 2-3 bait
Have a go with 2-3 bait combos / trace and slide styles and read up on each's general use. Good luck and dont stop til ya find something that works. Great for rugged spots IMO. \m/

Great to get live baits out
Great to get live baits out with concussing them to useless. Fishing a place like Lancelin, where I do they are only a tool to have on rare occasions. Must be no swell or absolutely no weed, otherwise total pain to set up just to have to do again because weed is on the line.
