North Mole Tailor
Submitted by hs1ehlung on Sat, 2009-11-07 21:06
Today went out with my dad around 6 pm had alot of small bite of
yellow tails and skippy then around 7pm just as the sun went to a dim
light tailor were in masses....
so much that we end finish around 8pm due to catch to many even with release of small ones and undamaged fish.
the biggest one was caught by my dad measuring at 40 cm :D
gotta love the fight of a tailor on a small bream rod :P
also there was a guy who hooked 2 small rays and lost one and just as we left he was on again ... not bad for 2 hours though he was not a very happy guy for watever reasons ...

Cheers for the report...
I went for a quick fish there last night and had similar results.. a few nice tailor. I only kept a couple that were foul hooked but was a good way to break in a new rod... by actually catching fish!

Gday Davy_G They were
Gday Davy_G
They were caught on unweighted mulies on ganged 4/0's but with the size getting around right now I'd use smaller baits like blue pilchards or at least smaller mulies, they seemed to miss the hooks most of the time.
I fished on the northern side to cast with the wind. im not sure if it really matters beyond that.
Good luck mate.. im sure youll be onto tailor soon enough.
