Northern Suburbs Crays

Does anyone have any news or opinions on what's happening with the whites? We've had 5 pots off the back of the 3 mile in 23 metres out from Quinns Rocks since before that massive storm but have only picked up about 15 whites. Noticed this morning that most of the pro's have moved on from that area and we got no crays out there this morning after a 3 night soak.
Is it worth hangin out there a bit longer? Thinking about bringing them inside for the locals.

Jabba its been a lean season
Jabba its been a lean season for myself and everyone else i know who has their pots out as well. I have got more reds than whites this year but im fishing more or less on the 3 mile rather than the outside like you. There was a post the other day about the pro's being out in the 40's catching the whites which was confirmed by a pro i know, so seems the majority have legged it already. I think i'll bring mine back on land after this weekend.

Great, heading out Saturday if the pots are empty I might move them into 30's. I'll post the result of Saturday's check.

Will there be a second run this year? Or after such a bad

I heard there is usually a second run in March but it's not a big as the first so it'll probably be disapointing.

gone!
gone! the constant swell and troughy weather made the whites bury themselves n hide from the swell! as soon as the swell dropped the whites didnt do what they usually do and step out continually they just took the chance and went straight for the deeper water! you will probably stand a good chance to head out to the banks and youll get into them cos after there they hit the edge and start marching north! long way to go for 8 crays but! just hunt your local sand holes and youll get the stragglers or resident crays! its the same up the coast up here. im putting my pots on the golden mile 8 fathom and if theyre not there its back to thrown pots off the stones in the holes!
the troughy weather and late swells have changed the usual migration of the whites! the reds will be good though early next year!!
