Northstar transducer

Hi Guys, great forum with loads of great info, only browsed so far but joined today.
I have a Northstar Explorer 660 combo plotter/sounder which was working fine up until a couple of weeks ago. The sounder has stopped working, I have checked the connections at the display unit. Is there anything else that can be done to troubleshoot before I try and hunt out a new transom transducer? I know Northstar no longer exists so may not be that easy to find a replacement.
Looks like I will need to replace the transducer but want to see if there is anything I should check first?
Any advice greatly appreciated!

Have you checked that the
Have you checked that the sonar has not been turned off in your settings by mistake, cleaned plug end with a tooth brush and crc. Transducers are normally the least likely end of the unit to break.
What doesnt work with it?

SR 20 normally when the
SR 20 normally when the sounder is on the transducer will click. I find the transducers fairly bullet proof unless wires are cut somehow. I actually have a through hull transducer that would work well in your boat. Cheap (if you have a SR20)

If its clicking i think its working. Have you tried to turn up the gain or sensitivity.
If your near Joondalup you can bring the unit down and we can plug into a couple of different boats and compare that way.
