Gusting to over 60kt's at Rotto sitting on nearly 50 and about 10 less on the mainland at Swanny.
Careful out there , hate to be at North Mole.

Strange that the swell hasn't
Strange that the swell hasn't picked up and has infact dropped , cott is at about .3 . Looks to be a major increase tommorow arvo and solid for a few days .

We had warnings of very heavy rain , possible flash flooding and damaging winds, nothing on that scale happened.
According to BoM just over 20mm of rain for the 24 hours and a max of around 35 knot winds, little bit more than an average summer breeze.

In Dunsborough myself , and the most destructive storm i have seen . Trees down on nearly every road ,surf is pumping on duns side by the way ! Seriously , i was in awe of how powerful it was , had branches sailing over our house , nearly lost a kayak off the shed . Have been for a big drive around and can say haven,t seen so much damage to trees ! Hope not too much damage to peoples houses . Fishin Busso jetty be a good call !

Our place got smashed, large
Our place got smashed, large tree on one side of our place snapped and landed on our roof, big branch landed on my shed and took out the chook house too. Another big branch landed fairly and squarely on the clothes line turning that into a twisted mess. 2 other trees on the block split in half. power knocked out but fortunately we got power back at 17:45. Just waiting for SES now to remove thre off the roof and let us survey the damage. There's a bit of that from what we can see, but doesn't look too bad. 135 kmh winds measured on the Busso jetty at 14:16, just when all hell broke loose here. Fully grown trees ripped out of the ground along the main road into Busso, every property I saw had debris in their yards. I've been in cyclones before, and this was well and truly on a par with them.

We had a ship break its
We had a ship break its mooriing lines down here yesterday, it was blown clear across the harbour where it crashed into another ship that was loading alumina on the other side of the port. Now both Worsley and Alcoa have both berths shut down until AMSA can inspect and clear ships for sailing. Was a bit scary for the guy in the Alcoa loader as he couldnt get out in time and had to watch this huge ship bear down on him.Winds were at the time clocked at 145km per hour. Scary shit.
While all this was going on i was cutting away the tree that fell on my parents house.Winter ya gotta love it.

Well the summers are unquestionably getting warmer (doesn't bother me) and its possible that winter may get a little more active (like it did a few years ago lol) .
I suppose it's all if you believe in climate change . The debate on ABC tv a few months ago was intersting . IMHO its happening.....
