Hi all,
off to nz in a week. Staying in Christchurch, kaikoura, ashburton and Queenstown. After big trout, Kingies and anything else that would be cool to catch down there.
after advice on gear to bring places to fish and charters and guides available. Also cool stuff to do would be nice
Thanks for any help

Take a drive to Milford
Take a drive to Milford Sound, full day sightseeing but awesome to see.
Just be careful of leaving your hire car unattended at the roadside carparks- the Keas will have every bit of exposed rubber pulled off in about half an hour-hire cars have an exclusion to the insurance
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...

If you can get up in the
If you can get up in the Marlborough sounds while they are muscle harvesting you'll hit the kings and pinks but I'm not sure from memory when they harvest. You just have to follow behind the harvesters and the fish will be there.
The dream place though in the south is Stewart Island, if you can get there then lock it in.
North Island is probably better for Salt but plenty of options for trout in the south.
