Im certainly no little johnny ( hes the man ) but I'm pretty sure there around all year but greater numbers are caught thru the summer months

Bigger ones during winter
Bigger ones during winter when the water is nice and cold, they die or are dead this time of the year( once their young hatch ) should start to see some numbers in another month or 2
