Wouldn't mind a couple of those myself....how big are the hooks ? And 500g...how long is the whole jig ?
And how much were they , plus freight.

Cheers

Bought 6 of them in 2010 at the main tackle store in Broome of all places, for use at the Rowleys. Did pretty well in 200m depth.

Though dont know if they would still have them though?

Diamond eyes!

Work well in the rod holder for GBs,. There fall rate is painfull so there not much chop in deeper than 250 and a slow current.

Still love'm though!!

Hook size is an 11/0. The actual jig without the assist hook and skirt bits is no longer than 3-3.5 inches.

For the 5 I bought it cost me $160 to my front door.

First tried them in about 250m but current was roaring. On our way back in come across a nice show in 150m of water current/wind was a bit more fishable drifting at about 2 knots. The Diamond eyes out fished the bait boys pulling up snapper and pearlies one after another all in the 3 to 5 kg range.

Diamond Eye Jigs

Mon, 2013-09-16 16:02

I purchased some of the 500g jigs from NZ over 18 months ago. At the time I was informed that the 500g models were not distributed outside of NZ. Door to door price was A22.50 each. The 750g model is a more recent product and wasn't available at the time.
As Southcity 104 has mentioned the descent rate is slow. To speed this up I have on occasions attached a 600g knife jig 2m or so under the Diamond Eye jig.
