If your paid for it with your credit card

Mon, 2018-08-06 15:48

I understand that if you pay for anything via your credit card and you don't get that good or service... you will be able to prove to your bank that you didn't receive and so they will reimburse you.
If you pay with cash or electronic transfer - you miss out.

expensive lesson but I second the credit card payment. That's at least one virtue of Aussie ones as the banks have this agreement to refund payment where goods not received. Took 6 months but got my credit back. Was buying something from US

Mungrel barstards

Mon, 2018-08-06 17:10

All this online stuff my be good but, there is always a bunch of mongrel bastards out there who see it as just another way to con good people out of there hard earned cash.

I just keep hearing more and more about this sort of thing and I just get more and more convinced that a face to face deal with merchants is the only way to do business, which I guess is a bit unfair on the many honest people out there who do business online but how do you tell the good from the bad.

 Where seller only has bank

Mon, 2018-08-06 17:17

Where seller only has bank trf, western union that should be huge signals. Paypal not that good either but really more on buyer than seller's side

paypal

Tue, 2018-08-07 08:30

I have found paypal very good , had at least 2 or 3 things go bad and not turn up , with sellers email or message service deleted etc , and have put my disputes in and had dough back each time.

Nothings certain though, so sorry to hear you got pinged mate , Its a huge huge market knowadays with WA people getting scammed to the tune of around 9 million bucks last year , and thats just the reported , you could probally double or triple that , cause most just move on .

Should be teaching school kids about scams from year 7 up i say.

Sorry to hear about the loss

Fri, 2018-08-10 11:38

Sorry to hear about the loss of money above.
But when I am a little bored and receive a call from "their something wrong with your computer and we need to look at it" I have a ball.
Act like I am following their instructions to a tee. Always giggle when they say they cant see my computer on their remote access?? I say I have done everything you asked for, can you start again. Usually they hang up then. But it has obviously triggered a response to keep calling back, so now just say "Im a computer engineer (not) and *^%k off"

That's a Westpac BSB

Wed, 2018-08-08 19:13

Held in NSW

Financial Institute Name : Westpac Banking Corporation . BSB Name : Newtown . BSB Number : 032-036. Address : 243-245 King Street, Newtown, NSW 2042

I would chase this down mate...that's a lot of dough... I would start with the bank itself...Saying you were scammed by the account holder.

I wish you luck.

Woj

Need proof of fraudulent activity

Thu, 2018-08-09 17:49

Best to correspond with the seller as much as possible about the purchase through email (get it in writing). NEVER do bank to bank transfer, go through Paypal (my preferred method) or other 3rd party payment options that usually side on the purchaser not the seller. If you have email correspondence  with the seller and that it is obvious he is using that bank account for fraudulent activities then you have a case worth looking into.

At this stage I have nothing to go on, website has been shut down
