Onslow

If ya ever get to onslow and the wind gets up or you got a boat load of kids or just havnt got the time or boat length to really get out there.  Dont under estamate the salt jetty. Its only 5 minutes from the boat ramp. Ive seen bait balls getn busted up many times, also a great night fishing spot. Ive caught everthing from oversize bream ,black jew and my pb cobia 17kg all out of boats under 13ft

Ive had several bust offs using wire with things that were put simply" unstopable"

Best day there saw 2boated cobia 1 lost cobia due to fact it was a double hook up with no gaff no net and three slightly inebeeerated yobos bussling for room on a12 ft tinnie with a 6 horse power packed outboard on the back great day. great black jew haunt.

all caught on a black 70grm halco twisty

Haven't been myself, but the boys went up there about 3 years ago and didn't have much luck.. Mind you they were cursed by the fishing gods for some prior indiscretions.. Stories of monster threadies being lost under the boat were the main tale they came back with..

They did manage to get this one thou..  But all in all it was a sad trip for them..

Thats a gem for your 2nd fish.. Mulloway/Black Jew is one of the main species Im missing off the target list.. Got to get myself into one of those!  Lot of time and effort that is often wasted when trying to catch one down this way thou..  Oh to be up north..

have had quite a few great arvo sessions drinkn an trolln from the beadon boat ramp to the mouth ,some days ya wouldnt get more than 10or 20 metres without hookn up to a little trev or queenie with plenty of double hook ups.

would be a great spot to get ya kids into it

leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but memories and maybe a few fillets and a muddie or two

you are not wrong there mitch

i think that they were some of the best small fish action that we'll ever see.

and with the boat ramp only across the creek its not hard to stop for lunch (get more beer).
