Well back from my trip, didnt take many photos but heres one of the goldens i got .
Also managed some cobia, spanglies, BIG sharks, big gold spots, small gt's and a few other species too.

Gotta love that. What did you get it on? Sounds like the fishing was pretty good. :)

that was on a mulie floated
that was on a mulie floated down on 2 snelled 5/0's . Fishing wasnt half bad thats for sure. That was caught off tantabitti. We fished the back of the reef for bottom species but kept getting sharked, so we taught those sharks a lesson and hooked up one of our "half fish" with 2 snelled 9/0 hooks on 130lb wire and gave them a beating for about 15 minutes at a time until they busted us off. Damn those sharks have some serious power. Mate got one up, it tail walked and busted us off. Was around 10ft.

Gotta love that, sounds gold mate! Did you manage to get out any further than behind the reef and did you manage to troll anything up?
Those sharks are awesome fun to try and stop.. certainly give the tackle a good workout..

Nah we trawled behind it for a few hours but no fish took a fancy to our lures unfortunatly, plus it was still pretty blowy the days we went out and with only a 30hp on the back we didnt want to go too deep. Not that we werent prepared, i think one of us had enough marlin gear to start his own speciality shop!

Bit of bad luck with the
Bit of bad luck with the weather.. gotta be prepared thou, just incase that day does come.. Best thing about Exmouth is that you can still fish most days you are there from either side unless its really blowing a gale.. Did you manage to go out in the gulf or get to any of the shoals?

yeh got in gulf one day,
yeh got in gulf one day, didnt goto the shoals. The gulf is where we got the tripple hook up of cobes while trawling. Thought we had all hooked a shark at once :p
