Hi,
I am planning a trip to Onslow. Does anyone have any info on getting into the mouth by road and camping at the Cane River / Yardie Landing.

Don't think your allowed to camp there and I would go see the station owner before you go on there the gate is usually locked

havnt been in there for 7
havnt been in there for 7 years but can tell you the station owner is or was a prick of a bloke ,went back a year later and he just refused us entry point blank, thought about going in anyway but didnt want the hassel ...didnt do that good fish wise but got muddies .the mouth was very shallow and realy need to watch the tides for entry times.stayed there for 7 nights and had a fat time .got lost on the way in there once or twice following the wrong track but had heaps of extra fuel so wasnt a prob might of had something to do with the amount of grog being consumed at the time.....reckon we took more rubbish and shit out than what we took in ..things like heaps of old export cans ,broken bear and wi9ne bottles dead car battries and just rubbish and shit in general ...
have done the trip by water as well ..took a while in a 4.2 tinnie and fuel, boose and ice weight are critical factors

Yardie landing
Mitch,
Am interested in accessing by boat and fishing/camping at Yardie Landing (Cane River mouth) unfourtunately very difficult to find any information.
I found your comment in an old thread about the place and hoped you could provide any additinal comment and or photo's.
Particuarly interested in the access at low tide, have a 5.6 trailcraft. Particuarly if it closes out or just need to be careful.
Secondly anchorage in the mouth and finally campy space.
Appreciate any advice or thoughts
cheers
