Opposite Lock 4wd Accessories Store "promises and lies"

A word of advice to anyone who decide to support this "franchise" in Mandurah the same way I have recently only to say that I regret I ever did!!!

I placed an order for a Delux Bull Bar and paid the full amount the 15th of Sept and received a call of it's arrival on the 25th.

When I went to collect the B/Bar I was told at reception the bottom plates never turned up "disappeared in transit" so after losing my cool outside the shop and realising I spend $1700 for something and then asked myself why did they not tell me that over the phone in the first place which would prevented me from driving all the way, I mean ......

Anyway I got told by the Assistant Manager these so called bottom plate guards will be here the following Monday 29th as it's being air freighted in via Queensland ..... well that week went passed 3 WEEKS AGO. Then I was told it will be here that week Friday 3rd guess what? stillllll nothing.

Last week Monday 6th I got told it's now definitely going to be here delivered to my door Friday 10th ..... STILL NOTHING and yet I have to call themmmm to ask, not them calling me nah.

This last Monday 13th gone I finally received a call "my word" and was promised the world. it's now definitely being air freighted in from Thailand of all ... places and will once again be delivered today and yet Today came and went and STILL no ......... plates with another lot of excuses.

In all my 7 years living in WA I have to admit that the service here is below 3 world country with one excuse to another and one apology to another. I mean air freight don't take 3 ffffff weeks. My gut is telling me this will end in court, I might be wrong. Thank goodness I did not buy the winch off them, this I bought off a web site in London and payed $500 and it was delivered at my front door 7 days after payment - NOW THATS SERVICE.

So please stay away or else pay once it arrives!!

I've started ringing around

I've started ringing around when it comes to my 4x4 as I've found mandurah to be very expensive! From the place your talking about I was quoted 650 for a crab bar for my last 4x4... Was also a 3 week wait. I got the same bar fitted that day in Welshpool $450... For the time your waiting I would expect some sort of discount and push for it! Hope you get your stuff soon.

Had a similar

experience with my Bullbar, from a different supplier and brand. Sadly most are made overseas and when there's a hiccup a wait is inevitable. But the biggest issue with me is, aside from the overseas bit....the price stays UP. Greedy pricks.

I had same experience at the midland branch...I  got a 2 inch lift with bags no weel alignment was done causing my new tyres to chew out in less than 3 weeks and multiple times the airbags leaked...after taking it back 3 times they prety much told me too bad about my tyres and took sweet arse time fixing airbags..

new car I tried arb wangara i got a full bar winch and intensity lights 1st trip away the light mounts on the bar snaped on 1st day of a 10 day holiday

came back explained what happend and that they had a design floor...the light mounts are to weak for the lights..

no worries they said I got a brand new bar put on  and brand new lights  took em a few weeks but I was happy with that

Consumer protection

Sat, 2014-10-18 07:12

I feel your pain........I would have one more friendly chat with them re this part and give them one more week to get it. If it doesn't turn up then I would go to Consumer Protection people and get them to look into it for you.
Usually the threat of taking the matter higher gets results...one way or the other
Good luck

I understand your frustration

I understand your frustration but it seems all these 4x4 stores have been spoilt rotten with an abundance of customers and trade over the last few years and not at all embarrassed when stuffing people around. However, if you really want to get jerked around and charged the penultimate max just start business with ARB as I can sadly attest too.

 had the exsact same problem

Sat, 2014-10-18 08:25

had the exsact same problem with our bull bar from same shop in Mandurah, took 3 months to get the lower gard parts after many phone calls & visits to the shop. When we ordered & payed for the bar up front we were told thease part were std as part of the bar, but once it was fitted & we picked it up I pointed it out it was incomplete so they rang the suplyer to find out they have to be ordered as a seperate item. Think they would of learned by now!

The bar also had a couple of scratches, they knocked $150 off the price due to the scratches but only after I lost my sh@t and yelled abuse at the manager telling him to remove the  bar and give me a full refund.

The quality of the bar is not great it sits a bit squwif, they just said thats normal as they twist in the jig when they weld them up.

I will never spend another cent there again, next time il spend that little bit more on an ARB bar, had one on my prvious car from ARB in Mandurah definatly a better quality product and the service there is far better.

If you paid with a credit or eft card when you signed up, call your bank and advise after all this time you haven't been supplied the item you paid for and they will contact them to give them a chance to get it right in short order, or get your money refunded.

If you paid cash then its off to consumer protection - hope you have your receipt!

 I thought the same, however

Sun, 2014-10-19 09:54

I thought the same, however ARB are not without there own problems. Mate bought an ARB steel bulbar to do the Gibb River road with and with the vibration and movement his small light force spotties cracked the steel mountings. Poor design, need backing plates to provide more strength.

However, to their credit, it was fixed without delay. Mind you, it's a top shelf product manufactured in Oz, you would expect better in the first place.

I wouldn't be too sure about

I wouldn't be too sure about the ARB Bull Bar being manufactured in Oz. They were manufacturing a lot of their stuff off shore.

Final Chapter

Mon, 2014-10-27 20:39

Everything is now sorted and all bits arrived after sitting at customs for a while it appears to be the fault of the suppliers not sending everything in one hit at first so I finally can sleep with rest.

Lesson learnt.
