Ouboard alarm

I have a 115 EFI 4 stroke merc wich is the Yamaha power head model. I have had an alarm sound when starting the motor 2 or 3 times the last few trips so its not a consistent issue. The alarm is a series of fast beeps which is different to the overheat alarm which is a constant single sound. Had weed wrapped around the prop recently which triggered the overheat so I'm sure it was a different sound. When I turn the key off and restart it its gone and the motor runs as normal. Has any one had a similar issue or have any ideas ?

Alarm
possibly oil pressure, when the boat is sitting rocking around in the water the oil can settle back to the-sump and can take a few seconds to regain oil pressure. If it is that nothing to worry about my old merc/ya my 90 used to do it.
My spots are so secret even the fish don't know about them !

Try and get it plugged into
Try and get it plugged into some diagnostic software (YDS if Yamaha powerhead) and see what fault codes you've logged.

Sure it's not a low battery
Sure it's not a low battery voltage alarm coming from your GPS or Sounder?
What you described sounds extactly the same as the low battery alarm that comes out of my GPS every now and then if I dirft around for ages with all the electrics turned on and then start my motor.
Battry voltage drop when the motor turns over drops the voltage below a certain point and alarm sounds for a few seconds but it only happens on one of my batteries which I recon is on it's way out or may just need to sit on a charger for a while

low battery
I think your on to it Leethal. I thought it was coming from the 587 which is right next to the throttle control but figured I must be imagining it. I will check that if and when it happens again. Awsome, cheers bud.

Had to happen a couple of
Had to happen a couple of times on mine before I figured out what device it was coming from as well.
Both the gps and sounder have low battery alarms.
Can usually adjust the voltage level at which the alarm sounds on them or turn it off completely

Should turn them off when starting
As possible for the boats alternator to generate a spike as it fires up .........
