Woulda thought the samson post be well sheered off, not just a small twist? And Safety chain just snapped as well?

I would say trailer fail big time. Doesn't look like it's registered so possibly been sitting around for a while. Not a good look for the poor bigger.

The guy posted last night looking for a hand to get it sorted out. He said he was towing it down while things were quiet to adjust the trailer to fit the boat. We around the roundabout and went from driver to passenger in an instant.

Definitely looked like the trailer gave way under the weight of the boat.

Are they really that bad? I'm in the market for a boat and will steer well clear then!

They're given a bad rap but, in my experience, its not always justified. Plenty of references to good and bad experiences on this site and others.
I have a 2013 175 which has been bulletproof. Fuel efficient, not too noisy and always reliable (serviced regularly).
