Outboard Service

Hi all - value your opinions
Its comming up to 2 years since i had my outboard serviced - 40hp Merc 4 stroke
but ive had a bung shoulder for 12 months and have hardly used the boat. Its about 22 hours running time since last service
Is it important to service the engine just based on time rather than running hours or can i clock up a few more hours before worying about it?

.
Warranty says so if its a factor.
Most likely though is your impellor will be puckeroo, if not under warranty I probably wouldnt worry about the rest as long as its been out of the weather.
Running on muffs wont tell you anything about the impellor either as water is forced in.
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.
